about our lab
Welcome to the Neural Engineering Laboratory! We are located within the Institute of Biomedical Engineering on the St. George campus of the University of Toronto. Our offices and lab space can be found in the Lassonde Mining and Rosebrugh buildings.
Our mission is to explore novel types of neural interface technologies and their potential use in medical devices. As part of this goal, we seek ways of controlling complex physiological systems by applying fundamental principles of electricity in a multi-disciplinary fashion. Research activities include computational modeling of neural interfaces, electrode prototyping and testing, acute and long-term preclinical studies, developing AI-based sensing devices, and testing clinical feasibility. Our work is relevant to the fields of electrical neuromodulation, bioelectronic medicine, and select areas of medicine.
